So I was waiting behind the Michigan Theater after Darren’s concert with a bunch of other (mostly) girls. It’s a loading dock back there and we were sort of in the way, so one of the security guards asked us to move. He said (and I quote) “We’ve got a car backing out in a minute and need you guys to move back so you don’t get hurt. And it’s a woman driving, so… hahaha” Needless to say, we didn’t really react well to that comment considering the majority of the people waiting were women. And the security guard thought that it would be funny to say something extremely sexist in front of 50 or so women (and a few guys). Not impressed.

So I went the Ann Arbor stop of Darren’s Listen Up! Tour yesterday and here is my story:

Woke up at 3:30 so I could get ready and my family and I could be on the road by 4:15am. That all went as planned and my sister and I were in line (right in front of Tropical Smoothie) by 5:50am. It was chilly and wet, but we were able to pass the time by chatting up those around us (one of which happened to be Darren’s Ann Arbor picture perfect/birthday girl!!!). Around 6:30 I started to feel sick and went and sat in the car. I then proceeded to throw up. I felt shaky and weak and I alternated between sleeping in the car and walking to the Starbucks bathroom until 10:00am. (While I was trying not to die in the car, I noticed that Darren’s mom and dad were there and that no one recognized them! They are even cuter and more precious up close.) I got back in line about 10am and then we were told that the concert would be delayed 30 minutes due to technical difficulties. When it was time to go in, my sister and I and the group we became friends with were at the beginning of the second set of 50 people to go in. We got in and sat in Row U and had to wait until the entire theater was full to actual capacity before the Theo could start. Theo was FANTASTIC and then it was time for Darren. His band went on stage when the lights in the back of the theater went on. Everyone turned as Darren (surrounded by security and a camera man) went down the aisle singing ‘Circle of Life’. He sang like perfection, talked about Ann Arbor a lot, and got really choked up. Charlene even joined him on stage as a special Ann Arbor guest and they performed The Muse together. And because it was Ann Arbor, Darren sang ‘To Have a Home’ and ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’. He was emotional and everyone in the crowd was emotional. Darren was so beyond amazing that I don’t even have words to describe it… After the concert was done my sister and I went around back and waited for three hours for Darren to leave. Theo came out and said hi and that Darren would be out a little later to sign stuff, but that he (Theo) couldn’t because he still had some work to do. The security guards told us that Darren would be out soon and then ten minutes later they said he had left a while ago and that we needed to go home. Needless to say, everyone was pretty upset that they led us on like that, but I still saw Darren Freaking Criss in concert, so I guess it wasn’t a bad day all in all.

use a red lipstick covering the outlines

pat on a light concealer, using a setting powder

pat on your skin tone concealer, and clean up any mistakes using baby wipes to remove excess concealer

use a fluffy brush and smooth it out with foundation powder.
